Some leisure reading .......

Hello to all my readers...... How have you been? Hope that all of you are in the pink of health. The H1N1 pandermic is now circulating in Seremban as one of the student from a chinese school here have contracted the virus. The school is now closed for a week.

I have not been updating anything much these days as you know, the responsibilities of the homemaker is unending but I managed to do a project or two based on tutorials during a bit of in-between free time.

Here are a couple of pictures taken by my son a few days ago when I was doing a project. Will post the pictures when I have the time.

Still have time to look up, smile and show the "peace" sign.

This is my so-called "Work" table. Hunched and full of concentration executing a project.

HBW Chrysocolla Bangle

Chrysocolla has been the stone of conciliation and reassurance throughout the world. The ancient Egyptians called it a wise stone because those who wore it came up with clver compromises while also being protected from psychological damage. It was said to make violent-tempered people sensitive and tolerant. This is apparently why Cleopatra carried a chrysocolla with her whenever she went.
This soft stone has a very beneficial effect on children. It also has positive psychological properties. It lowers stress and tension while reducing anger and hatred. It also promotes calmness, goodness and tolerance and strengthens intuition.
(The above writeup was taken from "Healing Crystals and Gemstones" - Dr Flora Peschek-Bohmer, Gisela Schreiber)
Code: ESP24
Materials: 6mm Chrysocolla Round Beads weaved with ATW Silver colour.

Wire Wrapped Tulip

This one of a kind wire wrapped tulip pendant is my most favourite pendant of all time. I lost the pictures while trying to upgrade my blog, so I hope you don't mind me posting it again here.

This pendant uses basic weaving technique, and once finished, this tulip can also be turned into a brooch or earrings.

Code: ESP18
Materials: Swarovski Bicones/Green Glass Oval Beads & Anti-Tarnish Artistic Wire.

This pendant was completed based on a tutorial by Mei of WireBliss.

Trinity Circle Pendant

I did another Trinity Circle Pendant but this time without the long chain. Instead, I attached the cluster of wire wrapped swarovski tear drop crystal, bicones and pearls at the bail. This pendant can be worn with any chain of your choice.

~ Annoucement ~

Hi everyone! Emily's Secret Passion is back again, after many unsuccessful attempts at changing my blog skin. I've finally succeeded but this time with lots of help from my son.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all readers of this blog for their patience and understanding while my blog was being upgraded.

I made a promise previously that I would post some pictures of my latest project. So, here goes....

TRINITY CIRCLE LARIAT is completed based on a tutorial by Jenny Pong of JP Beads.

This lariat uses the weaving and coiling technique with cluster of wire wrapped beads made of freshwater pearls and swarovski round pearls of various sizes and colours, attached to the other end of a chain.

Code: ESP12

The loop's diameter measures about 4 cm and length of chain from one end to the other end is 30 cm. The cluster of beads can be replaced with other beads/gemstones of your choice.
