Old Fashioned Chain

"Old Fashioned Chain" is the creation of Ms Bobbi Maw of http://MyWiredImagination.blogspot.com and was presented by http://JewelryLessons.com. I found this free tutorial when I was browing thru JL when I first started my wirework craft.

These are made with all the scraps of wire left that I had after a project. They're made with different gauges of wire, therefore you'll get a thinner or thicker chain. The wire is cut according to specified/required length, looped on both ends and then linked to each other.
These are good option if you do not have the ready-made chains available. Hmm.. I kinda like this chain, though.
Thanks for looking !

Didn't do much wirework crafting during the Hari Raya/School Holidays but here is a customised pair of earrings made for KML. I still remember KML because she was my first customer when I first started this on-line blog.

Free-Form Flower Wire Earrings

I was playing with wire for the past couple of days and came up with these earrings/ear studs. Previously when I was experimenting with the wire to make flowers it didn't come out as what I expected. So, this time I did it!

This one is crafted with silver artistic wire with clusters of 4mm round Turquoise beads, Swarovski crystals and pearls dangling from the middle.
The flower petals which is partially handcoiled with wire itself
measures 2.5cm and total length from top of petal to bottom of cluster is about 4.5cm,
hanging from handforged french ear wire.
Clusters can be made longer and be replaced other beads, if preferred.

This simple pair is done stud style. Slightly less than 2.5cm (Appropriate for me! ;) )

This is how it looks on the ear.

The above pair is crafted with brass artistic wire,
approximately 3cm in size, dangling from handforged ear wire.

And this is how it looks dangling from the ear.

I guess that's about the only pictures that I'm posting for this week. The school holidays are here which coincides with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
So, here's wishing all Muslimin and Musliman
~ Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
Maaf Zahir & Batin. ~

Turquoise Teardrop Copper Earrings

I was rummaging through my stash of beads last week when I came across these turquoise teardrop shape beads and was wondering what to do with them. As they are natural, so no two beads are alike. I will at times forget that I have them in my stash and found them unintentionally.
Normally, ideas/inspirations for earrings, bracelets, pendants, etc will just pop up whenever I am sleeping, cooking, carrying out house chores, driving and even when I am in the shower. Most of the time, when I can remember, I will sketch them onto a piece of paper that I can get my hands on and later play with the designs with whatever beads that I have. Then, I would use the techniques that I've learned to craft them out into appropriate designs.

How I wish I could wear them on my ears!

Code: ESP 97

The above pair is very simple in design with coils at the bottom, crafted with natural copper artistic wire and embellished with turquoise teardrop shape beads, some red donut glass crystals and round turquoise beads, hanging from handforged ear wire.

Length: 5.5cm from bottom of ear wire, 3cm at its widest part.
For your information, from now on I will not be posting the price for my accessories, except for the code no. This design will be a made to order piece. You may email me if you're interested and I'll be glad to reply to your inquiries.

Blooming Rose Ear Studs ~ Self Collection

Hello.......and before I go any further, I'd like to apologise for the lack of updates but would like thank you for being so patient to those who have been following my blog.
Been feeling very, very tired lately as well as lack of sleep during the night. It has been going on for the past few years though, and my eye sight is not helping me, too. My vision started to deteriorate ever since I took up wire work but I hope I can continue as long as this passion of mine is still burning. Hopefully I do not have to hang up all my tools and my stash away all my beads, etc ;(.
Anyway..... since I have nothing new to share for the moment except for this pair of Rose ear studs that I made for myself. I don't look good in chandeliers and dangles cos' am wearing spectacles and because I have thick ear lobes, so I made them into studs. They are definately smaller compared to the adjustable rings and the earrings which I made and posted earlier in my blog.

They're crafted with anti-tarnish silver artistic wire, using weaving technique with a Swarovski Crystal Pearl in Grey embedded in the middle. It measures about 1.6~1.8cm in diameter.
(Design comes from Kiki of BorneoQueen, Jewelry Lessons.com)
Woo...hoo... tomorrow (31 August) is a holiday as we will be celebrating
our Nation's 53rd Independence Day
and I get to wake up slightly later.
Already feeling very sleepy now .....^_^.......
Selamat Hari Merdeka to everyone .........
and thanks for looking !
