Made this today from previous batch of leftover tart shells. Strawberry jam at the base and filled in with cream cheese, toblerone chocolate and sprinkle with Milo powder.

Now you see it .......

and in a while, it'll be gone!

I would like to apologize if I have bored you with my baking and cooking rants. This blog is supposed to be about wire jewelry making but turned out otherwise. I am "temporarily" distracted from wire jewelry craft and turning my attention to crocheting and now, this. Bear with me please.

This cake was done during the weekend and is my 4th Basque Burnt Cheesecake during the MCO period. I just wanted to use up all the cream cheese that was left from previous baking sessions. This time I really managed to get the top surface burnt accordingly.

I followed my recipe from The Emily Wong https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjSbwWhkXis on YouTube. There are many more videos that you can find on this cake, some added matcha (green tea) and some chocolate with a twist. You just have to follow whichever suits you.

Food ~ Steamed Glutinous Chicken Rice

Reluctant from baking cakes/bread for the past few days, I am back with this recipe using glutinous rice. This is the second time I made from the leftover glutinous rice I had made previously. I was advised by the doctor to stop eating glutinous rice for health reason but I ate it anyway, because it's been such a long time since last tasted it.

I made it using one of the many recipes from YouTube channel, namely "Spice N' Pans" .

Didnt follow exactly the steps but it came out very delicious when eaten with chilli sauce.

The ingredients I've used are pre-soaked minimum 4 hours or overnight glutinous rice, pre-marinated chicken meat and chinese mushrooms and chinese sausages. You can put whatever ingredients you want but I prefer the above.

The meat, sausages and mushrooms are arranged at the bottom of the bowl and then top up with the glutinous rice which is then pressed to level it with the bowl.

Lastly, steam in boiling water for 45 minutes or more depending on the portion.

So yummy! 😋

Metal bowls to steam (minimum 45 minutes) them in and then unmould upside down to a plate for serving. Best eaten while still hot with chilli sauce on the side. Feeling hungry?

Hello! Its a Thursday and the weekend is approaching soon . Nothing much to blog except to share some photos at random, taken during my trip to the Island of Langkawi and Bangkok, Thailand about 3 to 4 years ago.

Can't remember the name of this place in Bangkok. The 2nd crochet bag (bucket/barrel bag) that accompanied me on this trip. Oh wait .... I think this was the King's Palace or King's Temple. Loved the colourful tiling works on the building.

Still in Bangkok. We had taken a boat cruise and stopped by this famousWat, a tourist attraction.

This Bangkok trip was the most memorable of all because on the first day of arrival, I fell and sprained my ankle that left it swollen. It was so painful for the rest of my trip that I had it bandaged and still being able to walk for another 3 days of sight seeing. Thanks to my friends who took care of me during the trip. Came back and seek treatment. Up to date, my ankle is still not 100% recovered although it's been more than a year. Taking a fall does not deter me from taking another holiday trip.

Enough said, am looking forward to another trip with my besties again in the near future.

Food .... during MCO (Malaysia's Lockdown Period)

Today is the start of Phase 4 (29th April to 12th May 2020) of Malaysia's MCO for the Covid-19.

We have been requested to stay at home and do whatever to our liking. JUST STAY AT HOME! So, these many weeks am doing exactly just that. Besides daily routine of house chores, I've done gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking, etc except exercising. 😊

Am sharing some photos below of food I made. There were others but I didn't snap any photos. A few may be my 1st attempt like this Basque Burnt Cheesecake. The recipes were obtained via YouTube where they have many versions.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

I overcame my fear of baking breads/buns with this plain sweet dinner rolls being the dough didn't raise during proofing. After many trials and error I managed to do it. Next on my list will be to make different versions of the buns..

Among others are banana cake, fried cruellers ( yau cha kwai - not successful with it though), Sambal Udang Kering (dried prawns) and Agar-agar Pandan (Jelly).

Another 2 weeks to stay at home, you bet I am going to try making other stuff.

Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims all over the world

Muslims everywhere will be celebrating Hari Raya in a couple of days after about nearly a month of fasting. Traffic slows to a crawl at several highways as city folk began the trip back to their hometowns for the Hari Raya celebration. There would still be some folks rushing to make that final preparations before the big day.

My goodself was not doing much crafting during the fasting month though. During the fasting month (Bulan Ramadan), there would be stalls selling food and stuff at Pasar Ramadan. Embarassing to mention this, but it was first time in my life that I visited a Pasar Ramadan in my housing estate although I have been residing here for 20 years. There is always a first time to everything, right! The stalls here were mainly offering food and drinks and I made my way to a food stall that I was attracted to and bought some food. Next was the drink stall which I bough "air bandung". I visited quite a number of times during the month and now there's just not many stalls as stall owners have stopped selling and to begin their journey back to their hometowns.

The one week holiday for Hari Raya is here to stay for all students until school reopens on 4th August. I will not be going anywhere but intend to do some crafting as I've been neglecting my hobby to some extend. :(

Hi ya, dear.

I know I've been very bad for neglecting my blog nowadays but I couldn't help it. The first school semester is in its first week but I am still busy and couldn't find the time to relax. Anyway, since I have no time to play with wire for the time being, I am sharing some photographs that were taken today on my visit to the Kompleks Kraft Negeri Sembilan as well as to the Perbadanan Kraftangan Malaysia in Ampang Tinggi, Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. The purpose of the visit was to bring my son and his two school mates to gather as much as possible information on Ratttan Weaving (anyaman rotan), interview with the proprietor, and to gather pictures for their history assignment for submission for their PMR examination.

There are many more photographs but shared here are some that are not in order, though.
