Handmade Wire Wrapped Earrings - Phalaenopsis Orchid Series (Style 2)

This is another style from the pair I posted earlier. It's a post earring but I've added the chain links and a Swarovski Teardrop-shape crystal at the bottom to give them a longer look. I think this one will no doubt look good on me (he..he..he..)

Phalaenopsis Series (Style 2)

Material - Natural Copper Artistic Wire, Aventurine Gemstone round beads,
Swarovski bicones & teardrop-shape crystals.

Measurement - 2.5" (6.5cm) from top of earring to bottom

Thanks for looking & have a nice week ahead!

Handmade Wire Wrapped Earrings - Phalaenopsis Orchid Series

Here is a pair of post earrings that I've just completed yesterday and photographed just now, so I thought I might as well update my blog since am free today being a Sunday.

Well... it doesn't resemble an orchid (Phalaenopsis) but I've just got to give a name to it (I am not good at giving names for my pretties). I've crafted so many earrings that I sometimes forget which is which.

Phalaenopsis Orchid Series - Post Earrings (Style 1)

Material - Natural Copper Artistic Wire, Aventurine 8mm Round beads
surrounded by matching Swarovski bicones.

Measurement: 1" (2.5cm) in diameter

If you're interested to have a pair done, please do not hesitate
to inquire via email.

Thanks for looking,
have a wonderful Sunday, and
Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers in the World!

Chinese Ching Ming Festival

Didn't do much crafting except for a bracelet which I posted earlier. The hot weather over here in Seremban didn't help either. The air-condition unit was switched on full blast as well which didn't help my headache which was pounding rather badly in my head.

Yesterday was Saturday and our whole family went to visit the grave of my late father in-law in Sendayan to celebrate the Chinese Ching Ming Festival. As it was still very early, there was not many people unlike last year when the whole place was like so crowded with cars and visitors.

Chinese Ching Ming is one of the 24 segments in chinese calendar and is celebrated in late March or April each year (105 days after the previous year's Winter Solstice). Ching Ming is also known as "Remembrance of Ancestor's Day".

On this particular day, the whole family will visit the ancestors' or relatives' graves. We have to carry food, fruits, incense sticks, joss sticks and paper offerings like money paper, paper clothes, paper gold ingots, etc. All of the offerings would be burnt for they believe that the departed can receive the goods and "money" this way.

Handmade Wire Wrapped Galaxy Bracelet (aka Romantic Garden)

Hi peeps, hope every body is at their best and in the pink of health.
Just to share with you what I have just completed making -
a wire wrapped, weaved and coiled bracelet with Czech beads and Gun Metal colour artistic wire. I so love the colour of the Czech beads
against the colour of the wire....they look so antique looking.
I have yet to explore how they look like
with other beads and colour wire.
The design for the components ("Romantic Garden" Tutorial) of this bracelet comes from a talented jewelry designer, Mastura of http://www.whimsicalnquirky.blogspot.com.

I'll name mine, "Galaxy"

Each component is approx 2.5cm and could be made
into a pendant as well as a pair of earrings.

Thanks for stopping by!
