Multi-purpose Bead Crochet Rope

Hi there!  This is my 1st post for the year 2023.
Actually, this beaded rope was completed in the year 2022 and was custom-made for a friend.
It serves as a necklace, a face mask holder, a spectacle holder as well as multi-strand bracelet.  Crocheted with size 11 japanese seed beads and pattern as requested by her.  All metal findings are stainless steel.

This spectacle holder can be clasped or unclasped as desired.

Hello, hello I'm back

Today is 22nd October 2022 and am back again after such a long hiatus.  There has been many happenings in my personal life as well as the world since I last updated my blog.  Did this and that and those in between.  COVID-19 is still around and will be here to stay for a long time.

First things first!  I just published my step by step wire jewelry tutorial on Etsy 10 minutes ago.  In total I now have 8 wire jewelry tutorials listed in my Etsy shop.  This tutorial is for a beginner with basic wire knowledge to intermediate level and above.

It's created from scratch from a spool of wire and am pretty satisfied with the outcome although I've been unintentionally neglecting my wire crafting passion.  This motivates me to create more tutorials in future.

If there is anyone interested in learning wire wrapping, do browse through my Etsy shop for other listings.  You can also check my Facebook page, emilysecretpassions for latest updates.

Crochet Beaded Rope Necklace

 26th June 2021 (Saturday)

Hello everyone!  I know I've been away too long and have not been updating my blog.   At the time of typing this, Malaysia (the country I'm from) is having its MCO 3.0.  It has been extended again and again after a 2 week period.

Everything is at a standstill and my house which is in the midst of renovation was stopped abruptly as construction was not one of the category that was not allowed to be carried out.

Since then, to keep sane, I've been occupying myself by induldging in my crocheting either a handbag or necklace.

Below is a photo of myself wearing my plain coloured and simple beaded rope necklace against my new batik blouse.

Hope to update again with something else in the near future.

Till then everyone, please take care and stay safe.

Tubular bead crochet bangle/bracelet

17th August 2020 (Monday)

Hi peeps!  Sorry ... missing in action again.
Been addicted to bead crocheting lately.

A recently completed bead crochet rope bangle/bracelet in black/grey/white combination.  This rope is 0.6mm in thickness and suitable for someone with slim or small wrist.

Thinking of doing a long necklace in the same design.

Pattern found on Pinterest, so credit goes back to the original author of this pattern.

Thanks for looking!

Tubular Bead Crochet (Floral Theme)

21st July 2020 (Tuesday)

Just sharing the type of thread I use to crochet my beaded rope necklace or bracelet. It's 100% cotton thread and comes with many colour choice.  Couldn't find this type of thread anywhere in my hometown shops but I finally found it from an online vendor selling DMC products.  I use crochet needle 1.00mm to go with it.

Made a trip all the way to the shop in another state to get the thread and I am finally satisfied.

Thanks for reading!
Have a nice week ahead!

Crochet Document/Multipurpose Bag

19 July 2020 (Sunday)

I completed this bag last year as a gift to someone.  1st time learning this bobble stitch and I used up 6 rolls of yarn.  The short handles were also crocheted (with plastic tube inserted to make the handles durable) and then sewn to the bag.

No zip closure but with button on clasp.

Below is another bag I did earlier this year, also as a gift.

With zip closure

Cheers ! ❤
Happy weekend, everyone!

Crochet beaded rope

27th June 2020 (Saturday)

Another weekend is here and gonna be over soon after tomorrow.  Haiz!   How I wish there would be more than 24 hours in a day.

Well anyway ..... here is my work in progress for the moment.    Picking up bead crochet again after stopping for quite awhile.  Was destashing some stuff when I found my seed beads and cotton threads.  Asked myself why don't I start bead crochet again since I have all the materials.  So, I ended up crocheting this pattern after browsing on Pinterest.

Not sure yet whether to turn it into a bracelet, choker or long necklace.  Its an 8 around with size 11 Miyuki seed beads.  I will update with a photo when it is completed.

Thank you for reading.

Till then, have a wonderful and productive weekend peeps!

Carrot Cake & Tomato Rice with Spicy Tomato Chicken Dish

3rd June 2020 (Wednesday)

This carrot cake was from last week's baking session.  My first time baking with this recipe.   I like the texture of this cake, loaded with finely grated  australian carrots and walnuts.  No butter used, just corn/vegetable oil.

The top, middle and sides applied with cream cheese frosting, then garnished with some grated carrot and chopped roasted walnuts.

I gave this 🍰 a 👍and will definitely use this recipe again.

Above is today's lunch which is a Malay/Indian dish.
Tomato rice (long grain or basmathi rice) with Spicy Tomato Chicken and Pickled Vegs.

Have a wonderful day!
