Done in record time! ~ Adjustable Wire Wrapped Ring (Seed Beads)

28th April 2013 (Sunday) @ 9.15pm

Hi there!
This was my weekend project based on Mei of WireBliss.com's tutorial.
I have almost all of her tutorials and done quite a few already but this one is the easiest and fastest to be completed.   I still have two other of her tutorials which I have not made an attempt yet.   I ended up doing two of the rings with different seed bead colours.
Her Adjustable Wire Wrapped Ring (Seed Beads) tutorial
is very easy to follow with step-by-step clear pictures.

If you would like to learn to  make this ring or to check out her other tutorials, go to www.wirebliss.com or her Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/WireBliss.

Thanks Mei!  I'll be doing many more of this ring for myself! =)

Turkish Love Knot Beaded Crochet Bracelet

25th April 2013 (Thursday) @ 1.24pm

This is what I did 2 to 3 days ago ..... trying out crocheting turkish love knot beaded bracelet.

I was surfing and quite by accident "stumbled" on a tutorial on YouTube.  I told myself that I could do this as it is very easy and so, ended up doing two of it.   Well, actually it's not completed yet and I only wanted to experiment with it.

This technique is easy to crochet as you can use any size/shape of beads to complete the design and turn it into a bracelet, necklace, earrings, etc.  The important thing is that you need beads with holes large enough so that your thread/yarn could go through it.

I ended up searching in my bead stash for big hole beads and found only this turquoise and flower beads that my thread/yarn could fit into.

Thanks for looking!

Hand Sewn Clam Shell Accessories Container

13th April 2013 (Saturday) @ 4.08pm

This is a project I did yesterday night and completed this morning.  It's called a Clam Shell Accessories Container.  You can store/keep your earrings, bracelets, small items such as coins, etc. in this container.   No sewing machine is required to complete this project.  It's all hand sewn from the very beginning to the finished product.  I bought the template in 2 sizes ie. small & medium and came with written instructions but didn't use it as I wanted to try it out first and see how it looks and whether I could complete it.

I used the small size plastic template to draw the shapes on to cardboard.  It consists of 3 large and 3 small pieces that has to be covered with batting and fabric.  I am not a sewing person, so considering that I have to sew this container by hand is quite surprising.  It's not very neat though, as you can see the thread peeking out from the fabric.

The cardboard that I used was quite thick and not so flexible,  so I had slight difficulty in opening the clam shell.  Nevertheless, it came out alright.  I'll be keeping some of my small ear studs and earrings in it for the time being until I make a proper one using the plastic template.

Now back to other projects that I have in mind ........

Thanks for reading this and have a wonderful weekend! =)

Remember this pair of earrings I made some time ago?
I had wanted to write a tutorial for this earrings earlier but kept procrastinating because I didn't know what and how to, until now.   I know how to take pictures but didn't know how to go about writing one and it was a dear friend (don't want to mention name here cos' you will know who you are when you read this) who taught me how to do it from A to Z.
I can proudly say I finally did it! Yay!  =)
